What People Are Saying

"“Having just used Jobpatch.com for the first time as an employer, I can say that we were delighted with the quality of service and attentiveness we received. Jobpatch is simple to use, and the ability to set up standard response letters made it easy to acknowledge applicants. The ability to add a profile for Abbey Business Equipment also gave applicants the opportunity to do a little more research, and consequently, the standard of applicants was good. Most importantly, we have recruited from our campaign on Jobpatch, and at a fraction of what it would have cost to use the usual methods! Many thanks, Sarah!”"

Hewett Recruitment looks at why?

This was one of the messages delivered at a recent HR business network conference in London.  Businesses are facing a delicate balancing act, preparing and reinventing themselves to be in the right shape to climb out of the recession.  Many have had to make redundancies or apply pay freezes, but ar now looking to recruit great performers they will need for the future.

There is no doubt that these are difficult times, but to attract top performers and open conversations with these talented individuals, businesses need to generate positive messages.  They also need to take steps to reduce the chance that their 'A star' players will not be wooed away.

Managing partner at Gallop, Peter Flade says "The difficult jobs market is masking retention rates.  If things are better in six months people who are not engaged wil leave.  People are thinking of jumping ship now and even now your best people will be able to find jobs.  There is always a market for high performers"

People are preparing for a new reality.  They have started to realise that good performance processes and people may look completely different in the future.  This in turn requires a 'gap analysis' to asses which skills the business will need in the future, which ones it already has and which ones it will have to develop.

According to Ian Tomlinson-Roe a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, "The recession has forced mny organisations to review their business models and hone how many people and which skills they will need.  Many small organisations have made or are going to make significant changes so action is needed now to deal with the short and medium term requirements."

UK businesses are still recovering fro skills lost during the 1990's recession due to poor investment.  Whilst there is a larger pool of people looking for work since the onset of the recession, organisations still experiencing difficulties in areas such as engineering where there is a shortage of talent coming through or moving abroad.

A recent survey showed that employers are finding skilled manual trades the hardest roles to fill, with good senior managers following close behind.  It won't be long before we see the 'War for Talent' back with a vengence.

As of the 3rd January 2009, Jobpatch.com has been informed by Hitwise.com that we hold the biggest share of the market (in the country) for the search term 'jobs in worcester'

What does this mean?

Basically, whenever anyone enters the query 'jobs in worcester' into a search engine such as Google.com, 24.6% of the entire market clicks through to our website. A significant number of people!

The Managing Directors of JobPatch.com (Steve Hayman & Phil Sharples) put this down to intelligent internet Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and good geographical placements for their adverts. Phil said, "Our current PPC adverts enjoy a high quality score, this means that most all users clicking through to our site, arrive, stay and return again." He went onto say, "We are also currently working with our Web Development Team to improve our 'organic' rankings on search engines. When all this is in place we are confident that our market share for many key 'job related' search queries will increase to even greater levels".
