'Paperless' job searching
Internet job boards have enjoyed a real period of boom over the last 5 years with now over 80% of all job seekers using the internet to find their next job.
Employers are now using the internet much more as they appreciate the much lower costs, speed of response and high quality of applicants they can enjoy by advertising on job boards.
Research commissioned independently by Jobpatch.com in Herefordshire and Worcestershire has mirrored the results of other national based surveys and revealed among other things that:
-
81% of Jobseekers look for their next role on the Internet
-
65% of Internet Jobseekers get an interview
-
75% get the job they were interviewed for
Traditional recruitment advertising in the press has fallen dramatically with national statistics indicating a fall of 33% in advertising revenue for recruitment. This at the same time as online recruitment advertising increasing by over 800% since 2003.
"Employers and recruiters are finding that the technological advances made on websites in recent years has facilitated the ability to profile and match job specs with candidates. Add to this the inherent speed of response afforded by the web it is easy to see how advertising for staff on job boards has become a favourite with employers, Vacancies can now be filled in a matter of hours rather than weeks and at a fraction of the cost." says Steve Hayman, Managing Director of Jobpatch.com.
So where are jobseekers looking for their next job? the internet, and for local jobs in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Jobpatch.com judging by the fact the local site has hundreds of jobs on it and over 100,000 jobseekers using it every month.

"Finding good staff locally in a cost effective manner is crucial to us and our success rate when using local press has been declining in the last 18 months.
We decided to give Jobpatch.com a try as it was local, we could target the CV database and also use profiling tools to ensure we received applicants for individuals who were suitable. It worked the first time and continues to work for us as it consistently delivers high quality applicants and at a fraction of the cost of press advertising. I don't think you can find a more effective method of advertising for staff"
